Easy enough to do, but I would question why anyone would need to
make it permanent.
I can't think of a good use right now to save the button state.
Most people want it to come up in normal APRS monitoring mode each
time, and make very little use of altnets. It's causing more harm
than good by having it save the button state when a new user tries
out all the options.
Can anyone come up with good examples where saving the state would
be desirable?
